About the Dulles Chapter
The Dulles Chapter of The Society for Human Resource Management first met on January 21, 1987 and was chartered on June 24, 1987 with 61 charter members. It has grown to over 300 members.
Some of the diverse and progressive businesses and organizations represented in the chapter are America Online, MITRE, BearingPoint, Computer Sciences Corporation, General Dynamics, HumanR, Inc, VA Department of Rehabilitative Services, FGM, Greenblum & Bernstein, Your Recruiting Company, Sprint Nextel, NRTC, Wachovia Insurance Services, ARTEL, William A. Hazel, Oracle USA, No-Nonsense Human Resources, Justin Bradley, Northrop Grumman, AgustaWestlandBell, Maximus, Odin, Feldman & Pittleman, P.C., Nordstrom Rack, Middleburg Bank, ManTech International, Lansdowne Resort, EIT, Spherion, Mindbank Consulting Group, American College of Radiology, Accenture, The Segal Company, Cox Communications, and more.
Breakfast or Dinner Meetings are held the third Wednesday of each month. Breakfast meetings begin with networking and registration at 7:30 a.m. followed by breakfast and program ending at 9:30 a.m.. Dinner meetings begin with networking and registration at 5:15 p.m. followed by dinner and program ending at 8:00 p.m..
The Dulles Chapter is a 100 Percent Chapter where all members are required to maintain
membership in the national organization. In addition to programs providing information to human resource professionals, the Dulles Chapter continues to be a Superior Merit Award Chapter in addition to a Pinnacle Award winner. The Chapter also holds seminars and workshops dealing with a wide
variety of current topics and issues including certification.

How The Chapter Is Organized
Governing Body: The governing body is a Board of Directors whose duties are outlined in our Constitution and Bylaws. The Board is elected by the membership annually at the November meeting and takes office each January.
Committees:
You will have an opportunity to participate as an active member in research projects, programs or special events which are coordinated through these committees;
Membership: concerned with recruitment, retention, and orientation of members. Programs: recommends programs for general meetings and special workshops.
Legislative Activities: works as a "grass roots" network on areas affecting employment. Newsletter: communication of various types of information to members. Technology and Information Systems: concerned with obtaining and relating developments in this area to HR practitioners.
