Agenda:

The December Transition Board meeting minutes were approved.

Treasurer's Report:

The Treasury Balance is $10,618.81

Membership Report:

As of December 31, 2001, there are 155 Dulles Chapter members including 3 Friends of the Chapter.

As a way to increase our membership, Lynn proposed that we create a postcard containing our Chapter information and send it to SHRM members not affiliated with a local chapter. The list of names to be obtained from Terry Finch at SHRM.

We still need speakers for the June, July and August meetings. A suggestion was made to host a joint meeting with the Leesburg Chapter and invite a speaker from National SHRM. Cornelia will contact Janet Parker from Area II to discuss speaking opportunities with our chapter. The Board approved Scott Cawood of the Great Place to Work Institute as a speaker. He will speak on “Traits, Customs, and Practices Found in the 100 Best Companies to Work for in America” at a date to be determined. We will pay his travel expenses from Delaware to Virginia.

Website Updates:

Old Business:

Cindy Loison purchased the lapel microphone from Radio Shack for use at the dinner meetings.

Mew Business:

The Board approved a change to Sponsorship Fees. The new fees will be: $250 for SHRM members; $500 for nonmembers. The fee includes advertising on the website for 6 months.

The Newsletter Editor position is still open. A suggestion was made to ask Michalene Maloche if she would be interested in this position as she has previous experience as an editor.

The 2002 Virginia SHRM State Leadership Conference will be held on February 1, 2002 in Alexandria, Virginia. Several of the Board Members including Lynn Lorenz, Cindy Loison, Amy Lourenco and Judy Perrault plan to attend the conference.

The meeting adjourned at 7:20 pm.
