AGENDA:
The April Board meeting minutes were approved.
TREASURER’S REPORT:
Ray Hasser moved funds from the Merrill Lynch Money Market fund due to the increase in yearly fees.
The Treasurer’s report was approved
MEMBERSHIP REPORT:
Kathleen McCoach is continuing to verify and audit the membership list.
The membership directories are ready and should be mailed out this week.
MEETINGS:
June: Organizational Change, speaker: Fran O’Neal
August: Recruiting Nutz & Boltz, panelists: Barbara Mitchell, Gary Cluff, and Gerry Crispin
Chapter Meetings will be advertised in the Thursday edition of the Washington Post Business Section.
WEBSITE UPDATE:
Nancy Streeter volunteered to be the point of contact for our website advertisements. The board discussed advertisements and recruitment on our website and whether we should charge fees, and if so, how much. The following recommendations were made:
Chapter Members: no fee to post positions or resumes.
Nonmembers: $150 fee to post job openings for a minimum of 30 days.
Nonmembers: not authorized to post resumes.
Vendors: $500 on an annual basis.
Fees for non-member professional service ads: $100 (introductory rate) for 60 days.
OLD BUSINESS:
The Certification Study Group will be held at Teleglobe USA, 11480 Commerce Park Drive, Reston, VA 20191 (off of Sunrise Valley Drive).
We will begin advertising in June. Course fees: $200 for chapter members, $250 for members of another chapter, $300 for nonmembers.
NEW BUSINESS:
August Dinner Meeting will be held on August 15, 2001. Registration and buffet dinner will be from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The program will begin at 6:30 p.m. and end at 8:30 p.m. with opening remarks by Nancy Streeter. Leesburg and NOVA chapters will be invited to attend. The fee will be:
- $30.00 Dulles Chapter members
- $40.00 SHRM National or other chapter members
- $50.00 non-SHRM members
Lynn Lorenz attended the VA State Council Meeting on April 20th in Martinsville, VA. Our Chapter did not win a merit or superior merit award this time.
The board discussed the following proposals:
Proposal for Dulles SHRM Compensation Survey: not enough interest and declined by the board.
Proposal for a strategic offsite sponsored by Debra Siday: deferred by the board until next year.
Proposal for sponsorship of a roundtable for book: discussed but no decision made.
The meeting adjourned at 7:30 pm.
