OLD BUSINESS:
The Certification Study Group, taught by Eileen Taylor, will be held at Teleglobe USA, 11480 Commerce Park Drive, Reston, VA 20191 (off of Sunrise Valley Drive) beginning September 24, 2001 and ending November 26, 2001, from 6:00-8:00 pm. The cost is $200 for Dulles Chapter members, $250 for members of other chapters/National SHRM members, and $300 for all others. Judy Perrault is the point of contact and can be reached at vprez@mindbank.com or at (703) 893-4700. The deadline for signing up is September 7, 2001.
NEW BUSINESS:
Scholarship:
Melissa Frescholtz presented a draft of the 2001-2002 Scholarship Program. The Board made some minor changes to the program. Melissa will finalize the program.
Mid-year review of 2001 Dulles Chapter Goals:
Beginning in July and continuing for the remainder of 2001, the Board meetings will be held at AOL’s Dulles Campus.
The board reviewed the goals set for 2001. Great progress has already been made with many of the goals already achieved.
The Virginia SHRM State Conference will be held on September 23-25 in Norfolk, VA. Attendees can register online at www.hrshrm.org/conference.html and obtain information on the agenda, presentations, workshops, and hotel accomodations.
Emily will give a brief update at the July Dinner meeting on her experiences at the National Conference.
Nancy Streeter will purchase a gift to be presented to Jami Dittmeier on August 19th in appreciation for her hard work and effort in orchestrating and organizing the recruiting workshop.
There will be no Board Meeting during the month of August.
